Ms. Teresa Barnes, Co-founder and Executive Director (Strategy and Fundraising). Teresa has a Bachelor of Economics and a Masters of Asian Studies. Teresa is a career Australian diplomat with posting experience in Kenya, Sweden and Canada. She lived in Ghana from 2016-2020 with her husband who was Australian High Commissioner at the time. She established the Action Against DV Network of NGOs and individuals working in the DV space when she discovered there was no functioning women’s shelter in Accra and few resources to support women and girls facing violence in their homes or communities. She later teamed up with Isobel and Akosua to build the Pearl Safe Haven.
